GERAKAN stalwart Tun Dr Lim Keng Yaik passes away 1939 - 2012

PETALING JAYA: Former Gerakan president Tun Dr Lim Keng Yaik passed away at his home in Tropicana here at 4.45pm on Saturday. He was 73. - The Star

My deepest heartfelt condolences to Tun Dr Lim's family. The former Gerakan president is one of the most colorful Minister and politician whom I have had the privilege to cover and communicate with as a journalist.

I'm sure every journalist who have had come in contact with the great man would remember him for his wit and humour.

May you rest in peace Sir.

Takziah!

Apanama, he was one of those elder non-chauvinist Malaysian-Chinese politicians whom I have the privilege of respecting, he once told me with his spit spewing all over th place that "kalau kita tak jaga negara kita siapa nak jaga lagi, kita mesti tentang mereka yang nak musnahkan ekonomi kita juga" he was referring to an anti oil palm campaign conducted by the US Soy Bean Association, may he indeed rest in peace. Tun you have been a good Malaysian!

I will always remember Tun Dr. Lim Keng Yaik from when he was Minister of Energy Communications and Water, where his press conferences were never boring.

He also sponsored our Alumni Association's annual charity golf trophy, the last event of that trophy being in September.

We were aware that Lim was unwell and was undergoing treatement in Japan.

My deepest condolences to his family.

May his soul rest in peace.

I have only one chance to listen to his speech. He is a very funny and good orator. Despite is funny tone, you can feel his sincerity in what he spoke about.
