Singapore threatens Malaysia... again?

retaliation

Singapore says will hike Causeway toll rate if Malaysia does
JULY 29, 2014

KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 — Acrimony between Malaysia and Singapore over road charges for the Causeway linking the two is set to worsen, with the republic saying it will match any increase in tolls collected on the Johor side of the bridge.

Ties between the two countries over commuters plying the link are already strained following Singapore’s move to raise vehicle entry fees, which prompted Putrajaya to introduce a similar tax for foreign vehicles entering via the country’s southern border.

And following the report that Malaysia may increase toll charges for the Causeway by as much as threefold for inbound vehicles, Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) said it will follow suit with an equivalent amount if the rumours prove true, according to The Straits Times today. - MalayMail

... and then we have a bunch of politicians, a majority from the Oppostion's herd of anti-everything school of thought led by a BN member of parliament who is either confused or is    captivated by the popularity of those anti-everything students, graduates and grand sifu who also happens to be a fellow MP of a neighbouring constituency in Johor.

I don't think Nur Jazlan would continue to lobby for the interest of others when the  Government/country he represents is being openly threatened. Balik ke pangkal jalan YB. You have strayed far enough to be a stray.

Nur Jazlan and his kind aside, I just pray the Government and the authorities concerned won't chicken out AGAIN when Singapore stomps it's foot.

RM100 million for Malaysian Insider's professionalism ?

malaysianinsider

I wonder why our newspapers can't simply say it out loud, spell out the fact of the matter that The Malaysian Insider is being sued for RM100 million, in their headlines. I really don't understand such chicken-shit reporting. Takut ker?

FS1 copy FS2 copy

The Malaysian Insider is being sued for an unreserved apology plus RM100 million in damages by a private company and three individuals, believed to be for Malaysian Insider's 'unverified' Umno-linked firm frontrunner bidding to manage fuel subsidies  article.

Well, this certainly is not the first time the Malaysian Insider is being sued for defamation and I don't think it would be the last. It's a pity that only a handful could afford lawyers and hefty legal fees to seek justice.

I remember tycoon Tan Sri Tajuddin Ramli's suit against them. The ex-MAS boss certainly had a case to shut them up.

Oh ya, The Malaysian Insider did play a dirty number on Mukhriz Mahathir too. A very dirty number indeed.

The Malaysian Insider also apologised to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad after defaming the Statesman.

Who next?

THANK YOU PM

This is indeed leadership by example. Thank you Mr Prime Minister for showing us that you, your Cabinet and the Government  has a heart filled with only the best interest of the nation and her people.

A heart which shares the joy and sorrows together as one.  photo-3

Malaysia! Lets forego large-scale Hari Raya celebrations...

...and stand with the families of MH17 & MH370.

MH17A

A sombre and moving affair

BY FARRAH NAZ KARIM AND ZAHARAH OTHMAN

EINDHOVEN: THE first batch of 40 caskets carrying the remains of those who died in the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 tragedy arrived here late yesterday afternoon from Kharkiv, Ukraine, on board two military transports.

The nation and this historical city, which had seen its share of bloodshed and carnage during World War 2, observed a minute’s silence as the caskets were taken out of the cavernous bays of the two military aircraft and loaded into the 40 waiting black hearses lining the flight line.

Air traffic here was grounded, trains were stopped and people on the streets bowed their heads in reverence for a minute in respect to those who lost their lives when MH17 was blown out of the sky on July 17. - NSTMH17B More details of how the Dutch brought the whole nation to a standstill to honour the souls onboard MH317 in the NST today.

Adelaide too mourns the tragic lost of its first international visitor. 1stAdelaide MH17  was the new Adelaide International airports FIRST international visitor in 2005.

The whole world, the east and the west, north and south irrespective of colour, creed and beliefs are mourning this tragic lost of lives when MH17 was shot down while flying over Ukraine.

Pointing fingers loaded with real and manufactured evidence seems to be the rule of the day, especially among the superpowers, ever since the the Monday mid-air murder but the Dutch have certainly broken away from this vicious cycle and set their priorities right.

The Dutch, the King, Queen and the Government have placed the interest of the victims' next of kin above everything else. The way the caskets carrying the remains were handled and the respect and honour accorded speaks volumes.

I believe, after the due process of identifications are done with, the remains of our fellow Malaysians would reach home during or after this year's 1st of Syawal - Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. MALAYSIA-UKRAINE-RUSSIA-AVIATION-ACCIDENT I suppose this time around Hari Raya in Malaysia  would be free from extensive celebrations as a mark of respect and in memory of those onboard MH17 who perished in the tragedy and others onboard MH370 who are yet to return home after more than four months.

The Prime Minister and probably members of his cabinet could set the tone for the nation by not holding large scale, carnival-like Hari Raya Open House celebrations.

If you have to celebrate, consider keeping the celebrations low just among family members and close associates.

Hari Raya, I feel, is the right time for us to stand together with the children, spouses, parents and next-of-kin of all those who, we pray, are Resting In Paradise.

Al-Fatihah to every lost soul, irrespective of colour, creed, beliefs or the country of origin. May God bless you and place you in paradise. NajibMH17

This young voice from Palestine not only sums up the situation in Gaza/Palestine but also points to the scary silence of humanity in the face of the barbaric Israel Government  which continues to slaughter human being with total impunity.

Leave aside the 'saviour' President Obama of the US who is doing nothing but prostituting himself and his nation to the Zionist regime in Israel.

What happened to the Arab nations in the middle east? If you can't bomb the shit out of Israel, the least you could do is to stop the massacre of the innocent in Palestine. Is that too much to ask?

Pakatan Rakyat' moronic way of life ?

tarmizi

If anyone had incurred God's wrath, it is Kedah PAS Youth information chief Ahmad Tarmizi Sulaiman for saying that those in the downed MH17 lost their lives due to Malaysia Airlines' sins, said MIC.

Party director of strategy S Vell Paari said Ahmad Tarmizi's "divine logic" only shows that he is "intoxicated with stupidity and recklessness".

He said that instead of showing mercy and compassion, as taught in Islam, Ahmad Tarmizi (left) "rubs salt into the gaping wounds" of those who lost their loved ones on the flight.

"It is he who should be struck down by lightning for uttering such distasteful things," he said in a statement late last night.

Ahmad Tarmizi, in a press statement, said that MAS has been hit with a double tragedy because it incurred Allah's wrath for serving alcohol on board and its female flight attendants do not adhere to Muslim dress code. - Malaysiakini

If the above report by Malaysiakini is accurate and their earlier report on what the Kedah Pas Youth information chief had said about the MH17 tragedy is not another blatant Malaysiakini lie, then this idiot in skullcap should must repent.

He certainly is not God to make sweeping judgements as to why such misfortune and tragedies have befallen our national airlines MAS. Even the atheist who don't believe in the existence of God would not make such hurtful statements. I know a few of them and they are certainly more humane and far more civilised than this Pas idiot.

Trust me, Ahmad Tarmizi is not alone with such screwed up views and opinions at a time when the whole world is mourning the tragic lost of lives in MH17 and MH370.

There are many more narrow minded morons like Ahmad Tarmizi who take such tragedies as opportunities for them to preach about their brand of Islam and sell Pas as the most credible lot to rule this Muslim nation of Malaysia. - (Try venturing into the Facebook postings of Pas sympathisers and idiots who pretend to be born again Muslim)

Some even reprimand you for saying R.I.P. to the non-Muslim victims of this and other tragedies.

You preach at the highest possible pitch of your voice that Islam is the way of life but on the very next breath you promote hatred and religious bigotry.

I don't normally agree with former MIC president Datuk Seri S.Samy Vellu's son Vell Pari's political/populist statements but his latest take on our latest religious bigot is spot on.

Silence copy

Lets wait for the often righteous and holier than thou leaders of Pakatan Rakyat, the DAP in particular, to explain their stand on such morons among them and their moronic views about life.

[caption id="attachment_1197" align="aligncenter" width="248"]Deaf, dumb or blind to such idiotic statement from your bedfellow? Deaf, dumb or blind to such idiotic statement from your bedfellow?[/caption]

Selangor MB post - Man enough to return to the rakyat ?

PKR gives official nod to president to become new Selangor MB

BY ADRIAN LAI - 22 JULY 2014

KUALA LUMPUR : PKR has nominated president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the next Selangor Menteri Besar threatening to prolong a crisis that could possibly erode Pakatan's electability.

De facto party leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim acknowledged the fear when announcing Azizah as the nominee after chairing a PKR supreme council meeting Monday night.

Anwar said there was a need "to preserve the people’s confidence in the Pakatan government in Selangor".

Anwar said his wife Azizah would be officially named as the party MB nominee at a Pakatan meeting Wednesday.

The reactions and immediate attitude of incumbent Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim's shall be keenly monitored on Tuesday. - NST

khalid

This is no more a secret. Khalid Ibrahim, the once blue-eyed boy of Anwar Ibrahim, is being openly humiliated by his own party and leaders. Khalid is being punished for putting the interest of the people first, before partisan politics and hungry vultures within his Government.

The decision to endorse Anwar's wife Datin Seri Wan Azizah as the next Mentri Besar of Selangor is certainly a slap on Khalid's face as his relatively clean leadership, widely appreciated by the general public, is not welcomed by his own party.

By stating that Wan Aziziah's candidature was "to preserve the people’s confidence in the Pakatan government in Selangor", Anwar is insinuating that Khalid was losing or has lost the people's confidence.

Is that the case in Selangor? Has Khalid Ibrahim lost the confidence of the people and his credibility that he must step down half-way through his tenure? How does one gauge this perception bandied around by his own party and its leaders?

The Selangor State Constitution 1959 Article 53 (6) states that “If the Menteri Besar ceases to command the confidence of the majority of the members of the Legislative Assembly, then unless at his request His Highness dissolves the Legislative Assembly, he shall tender the resignation of the state Executive Council. - source NST.

As the state constitution clearly stipulates, the ultimate power is still vested in His Royal Highness DYMM Sultan of Selangor. It is certainly not for Anwar Ibrahim to dictate who the Mentri Besar of Selangor must be.

If Khalid is man enough, he could now stop Anwar Ibrahim and his nepotism, in his tracks.

Rather than being humiliated by Anwar Ibrahim and watch him install his wife as the next Mentri Besar , and prolong the suffering of the people of Selangor, Khalid should just go for broke.

Just advice the learned Royal Highness Sultan of Selangor to dissolve the state assembly for a fresh mandate from the rakyat.

What better way there is than to return the power to the people. Let the people decide if they want Anwar Ibrahim's wife, daughter or driver to be the next Mentri Besar of Selangor.

Dissolving the Selangor state assembly appears like the best solution for all. The state constitution also spells it out very clearly.

Certainly a good opportunity to stop Anwar Ibrahim's backdoor politics but is Khalid Ibrahim man enough to do it?

An urgent SOP to STFU

stfu

Looks like we urgently require the Government or those related agencies to come up with a detailed Standard Operating Procedure - SOP -in relation to the security threats in the east coast of Sabah.

The Prime Minister had requested for a detailed SOP for the enforcement authorities request for a  'shoot on sight' approval from the Government.  The request came from the Chief of Navy following the latest murder and kidnap of policemen on duty at Pulau Mabul off the coast of Semporna.

While the SOP for 'shot on sight' is apt and necessary for a more aggressive operation against armed intruders and terrorists from Southern Philippines, I think the Prime Minister must also order whichever related agency or persons to  draw up another more important SOP.

This new SOP on how 'Not to shoot your mouth off' must be made applicable to all politicians, including the Prime Minister and all his able Ministers. Some overzealous fame-craving reporters must also be put behind bars if it necessary to protect lives.

Don't you think this SOP to shut up is important?

Is THIS not playing with the kidnapped policeman's life?

The power of stupidity

Never ever under estimate the power of stupidity. Don't ever think that an ultimate idiot won't be your leader. George W Bush Jr is a living testimony that even the most powerful nation in the world is not safe from idiots.

Idiots occupying top positions are more dangerous than mullahs with nuclear warheads.

You can't knock em' down (those idiots) with drones, missiles or weapons of mass destruction.

Don't tell me later, that I didn't warn you earlier.

The best we could do now is pray and hope for near miracles.

Some might want to employ the German national football coach as the next consultant/image-builder or even strategic advisor. Actually its not a bad idea. I'm sure many fans of George Bush would agree that governing a nation and training/managing a football team is very much the same, except maybe the headcount and ...

Who said it was an ANALogy?

PAS urges Dr M to speak up on Iskandar

Wondered if the Pas vice-president was speaking his mind or totally out of his mind. It could have been an overload of all night long World Cup football too, but this guy seems serious.

The Pas VP wants Tun Dr Mahathir to continue to champion the interest of the people of Johor i.e. The Iskandar region and issues surrounding the foreign direct interference via foreign direct investments facilitated by the royalties and a subservient state government.

Pakatan BUKAN harapan rakyat la if like this Din. In the last GE Salahuddin contested for the Pulai parliamentary seat and lost to the late Tok Mat's son Datuk Nur Jazlan. He also lost in his bid for the Nusajaya state seat.

Had you won Pulai, would you be still pushing Dr Mahathir to stand for the people of Johor  Salahuddin?

Deaf and dumb in the White House, and the United Nations

It shows exactly what they are capable of. Forget about who really assassinated John F Kennedy or who piloted commercial airliners which crashed into iconic buildings into the US.

Wonder what happened to Saddam Hussein's yet to be found WMD. WMD was the main reason why the US and UK unilaterally invaded and destroyed Iraq, and murdered Saddam.

Wonder what happened to Osama bin Laden. Why was there a need to dump his body deep in the ocean?

With the kind of blatant lies and shameless propaganda they're capable of, can anyone possibly trust them? You trust them to promote freedom, human rights and democracy?

The United Nations should be ashamed of itself. The lame duck secretary general Ban Ki Moon must step down or at least commit harakiri as you have failed miserably to stop innocent human beings from being slaughtered with impunity, just as all your predecessors did.

NAJIB - Dr M nampak muda bertenaga kan?

HappyBdayTun

Well, it is truly refreshing to note that the Prime Minister actually took time to wish elder statesman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on his 89th birthday yesterday - July 10, 2014.

Such public gesture from the PM, for a man whose immense contributions to this nation and her people cannot be denied even by his worst  political enemies, is indeed heartening.

Remember, you still need Dr M to stand up against those who are perceived to be the untouchables. This was yet again proven very recently after leaders who were supposed to protect the interest of the rakyat opted to switch into the silent mode.

I'm sure Dr M would appreciate Najib's well wishes but I think the grand old man would be a much happier Malaysian if  the Government of the day stopped pandering to new politics (whatever that means), liberalism and the idea of embracing unbridled freedom and democracy. That, and a no nonsense leadership from your team Mr PM would be the best birthday gift to the man who practically put Malaysia on the minds of global citizens.

Thank you Mr Prime Minister.

p/s We pray Dr M kekal bertenaga untuk menegur demi kebaikan kita semua.

Red carpet or ISA... for those who 'balik kampung'

[caption id="attachment_1100" align="aligncenter" width="625"]zm Al-Maunah militants who killed two security personnel in Bukit Jenalik[/caption]

Wan Junaidi: Malaysia under militant threat without ISA

KUALA LUMPUR: The repeal of the Internal Security Act (ISA) has impacted the fight against militant activities, said Deputy Home Minister Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

He said without the ISA, which allowed for the detention of someone without trial, it was difficult for the security forces to take appropriate action against suspected militants.

Under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 or SOSMA, which replaced the ISA, individuals can only be remanded for 28 days and have to be charged in court after this period.

"And only after they have been convicted by the court, can the individuals involved be jailed.

"But in the movement (militancy), it is not easy to provide proof that is acceptable to the court," Wan Junaidi told Dewan Negara in a reply to Senator Noriah Mahat.

Noriah wanted to know the reason for the existence of militant groups in this country and the holistic approach taken by the government with the cooperation of other countries in stemming the militancy threat.

Wan Junaidi noted that 12 Malaysians had been charged in court for militant activities.

"Eight were released due to lack of evidence. Only four cases are still on trial.

"So, this is among the effects of the abolishment of the much-feared ISA but unfortunately, our country is under threat without the ISA," he said. - The Star

Internal-Security-Act

The above 'unfortunately our country is under threat without the ISA' WARNING from none other than the Deputy Home Minister appeared exactly a week ago on the 1st of July in The Star newspaper.

What happened after the former police officer turned Deputy Home Minister's clear warning about the real and present danger threatening the peace and security of Malaysia and her people?

NOTHING!

Obviously the Prime Minister, who just a few months ago was of the opinion that an overwhelming majority of Malaysians were against the ISA, appears to be holding on to his flawed understanding of the issue at hand.

Its an open secret that only a minority pressure group fuelled by certain Opposition politicians and the bunch of image builders masquerading as advisors continue to believe their own propaganda that abolishing the ISA is one of PM Najib Razak's brilliant moves so far. BR1M must the other one.

Lets accept the fact as it is. Abolishing the ISA didn't bear anything positive except for spiralling crime, increased racial/religious provocation and as confirmed by the Deputy Home Minister ... further strengthening the threat of militancy.

Experienced and battle scarred police officers, both serving and retired, are still trying to get the Government to its senses and to stop gambling with the future of this peaceful nation. Remember that we have terrorists/militant hotbeds all around us and recent developments have proven beyond any doubt that an increasing number of our fellow Malaysians are becoming terrorists and militants.

Serving senior police officers, the IGP included, have hinted and said it in not so many words that abolishing the ISA is a bad idea. The didn't say it was stupid but it was a bad idea.

Even our mainstream newspapers are now unsuspectingly 'promoting' militancy with good coverage of one militant's Facebook postings and why another militant's mother thinks he is a Jihadist and not a terrorist.

The Government, in particular the Prime Minister, must wake up fast and admit that it was a BIG MISTAKE to abruptly abolish the ISA without proper, prior consultations with all concerned parties, especially we the Malaysian public.

Do it now before bombs start exploding in your backyard. The situation must be grave because the Deputy Home Minister said so. We cannot be waiting for Jamil Khir to give the green light, can we?

There was no proper prior consultation before the announcement to abolish the ISA was made on the eve of Malaysia Day on 2011. There were proposals to amend/fine tune the ISA to prevent any form of abuse but abolishing the ISA was certainly NOT A COLLECTIVE decision of the cabinet.

Please stop populist moves that are threatening this country. Populism and populist knee-jerk policies like BR1M and other equivalent cash and goodies handout programmes are bad enough, so please don't extend similar approaches to areas concerning the peace and security of all Malaysians.

Don't risk the future of this nation by abolishing  legistlations meant to safeguard us all. The intention to abolish the Sedition Act is another similar not so smart move and could backfire, especially under the current leadership.

Eminent persons have deliberated on the not so brilliant idea to remove the Sedition Act... here and HERE.

Please be informed that abolishing the ISA is NOT the wish of the majority of the people.

Whoever told the Prime Minister that this (abolishing the ISA) was what an overwhelming majority of Malaysians wanted was either telling a lie or is simply plain stupid to begin with.

The results of a quick poll is published below.

poll latest copy 2

Unless you want to lead just 10% of the population, please stop such populist tricks right now and go back to basics. Start with an open discussion with those in charge of security and they'll tell you how wrong you are.

If you don't trust your own security personnel and veterans, try consulting your smart counterpart down south, Prime Minister Brigadier General Lee Hsien Loong. I'm very sure he'll quietly ask you to make a quick U-turn.

As Malaysians would say, bila dah nyata sesat, pulang lah kepangkal jalan. Swallow the bitter pill and do it now before the hundreds of Malaysian militants, currently serving overseas, decide to balik kampung.

Remember even the world's No 1 purveyor of Human Right, freedom and democracy still maintain the Patriot Act to protect their home against terrorists, militant and extremist... including those ruthless terrorists trained  in Northern Ireland.

p/s  Was abolishing the ISA a unilateral move Mr Prime Minister?  #Justasking

SYMPTOMS OF A WEAK LEADER

abe

Let's Start off by defining a "weak" leader; see if you can recognize this person:

1. When it comes time for decision-making, he/she hesitates to commit.

2. He/she has made a career of avoiding differences of opinion or potential conflicts.

3. In a group meeting, he/she waits until others have given their points of view before saying something.

4. He/she tends to "go with the flow" of prevalent thinking, whether it's right or wrong.

5. He/she tends to agree with whichever employee is the last one in his/her office at the time.

6. When there is a disagreement between other parties, he/she does not intervene, even when it's appropriate or necessary to do so.

7. When someone has offended this person, he/she does not confront the individual directly, but instead, builds support for their own position by talking badly about this individual behind their back.

8. He/she has a tendency to "cry" on other people's shoulders about how overwhelmed and overloaded they are with work and responsibilities.

9. It is very difficult for him/her to give the "hard" messages or give constructive feedback to others. When he/she does have to give a negative message to someone, it's always someone else who has coerced them to do so. They make it a point to let the individual know that it's not their idea.

Do any of these scenarios sound familiar?

What do we do if we are 'blessed' with a weak leader?

*Somebody close enough and those able advisors could try out some of these possible solutions spelt out HERE.
