Malaysia launches Gaza emergency fund

KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Tuesday called on Malaysians to continue to provide aid in various forms to the people of Gaza, Palestine who are being oppressed by Israel.

Dr Mahathir, who is also president of Perdana Global Peace Foundation (PGPF), said whatever aid including food, clothing, construction materials or cash could assist the Palestinians to continue to live and receive better protection.

"Malaysia has several bodies that are providing aid to Gaza. Today we launch a fund. The proceeds will be distributed to several NGOs (non-governmental organisations) which have distribution networks in Gaza, that we (PGPF) don't.

“So, we are willing to give to anyone that are aligned with us whether within the country or in Europe," he told reporters after launching the Gaza Emergency Fund at the Putra World Trade Centre, here.

Also present were his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamed Ali and PGPF Chairman, Tan Sri Norian Mai.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussien has come out in full support of PGPF's Gaza Emergency Fund launched by Tun Dr M yesterday.

More than 1.1million members of the Home Ministry's Peace Squad (Skuad Keamanan 1KDN) have also been activated to spread the message of peace while seeking contributions for Malaysia's Emergency Fund for Gaza. 

Certainly we could expect others to follow suit, but hopefully politicians and some irresponsible people out there don't start new funds or tabung for Gaza here and there.

Remember the fund is for those suffering in Gaza and not for your own political mileage.

p/s In an environment where religion is being abused for politics, without any sense of shame or guilt, don't be surprised if 'political' Gaza funds start mushrooming at every gathering.

Being the 'higher grade' Muslims as they claim to be, PAS leaders, members and supporters should be ashamed of themselves for such deviant acts at the expense of Islam.

While Muslims worldwide are offering Doa and praying for the safety of our fellow brothers and sisters in Gaza, Pas is busy promoting hatred among Muslims in the country by organising mass prayers and Doa for the destruction of fellow Muslims in Umno.

This American president seems to be doing things differently from his predecessors, except for Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Yemen and ... 

Frankly, I hope Obama would drive some sense into those who formulate the US' foreign policy. 

The new approach should be based on mutual respect and not the shock n awe gunboat diplomacy the Americans are so used to. 

STOP interfering in the internal affairs and/or politics of other nations because its none of your business. STOP your regime change doctrine and STOP playing God. I'm sure Sandy reminded you who GOD is.

Mr President, if you don't pull your nation out of this quicksand gunboat diplomacy, the Chinese will eventually bury you guys deeper than your wildest dreams.

Who is the Napoleon in TANDA PUTERA ?

Lembaga Penapisan Filem (Censorship Board) which comes under the Home Ministry has approved Tanda Putera for screening many moons ago. Initially the movie was supposed to be screened in September but it was later postponed to Nov 15.

As the poster below shows, it was all set to be shown in our cinemas from Nov 15 but some napoleons within the system have one again sabotaged the movie for reasons best known to them..or him.

I was made to understand that even the Prime Minister and some of his cabinet members have watched a preview of Tanda Putera and ... many left the room in tears.

So, what is the big problem with Tanda Putera that someone powerful, more powerful than the Prime Minister and the Home Minister it seems, is holding up the movie.

Just tell us, what is the f...... problem with the movie. Can we please stop this flip-flop thing from the recent past?

WHO IS TELLING LIES, OR IS THIS A FAKE DOCUMENT? 

Documents made available to this blog proves beyond any reasonable doubt that the movie Tanda Putera has been approved, more than FOUR MONTHS ago, for screening in our theatre circuit. 

The approval was issued by the Film Censorship Board or Lembaga Penapisan Filem (LPF) which sits under the Home Ministry. 

LPF's June 11, 2012 approval was signed by Wong Chooi Chin - Penolong Setiausaha, Lembaga Penapisan Filem Malaysia, Kementerian Dalam Negeri. 

So, Rais Yatim's earlier statement that it was the LPF that postponed the screening of Tanda Putera cannot possibly be true .... unless the above Home Ministry issued approval is fake. 

I think Rais owes us an explanation. A real explanation and not some fictitious spin of shifting blame from one ministry to another. 

Who is the culprit here? Why there is only 'no comments' from Finas? Come'on WTF is the problem?
