Who knows it all ?

... its certainly not you, me or even the cabinet!

dontknow

Judging by the shock and awe created by the latest petrol and diesel price hike last night, please be rest assured that the 'days the Government knew it all' is certainly over.

As the Prime Minister said before in one of his earth shattering speeches that neutralised even his strongest adversaries (or so they believed till the ballot boxes were opened), the days the Government knew it all is over.

This latest fuel price hike is testimony to the fact that not only the Government is now NOT in the know but the whole lot of politicians who sit in the CABINET too are NOT in the know about what was happening to this country.

It seems the drastic fuel hike that came down like a sledgehammer two days before Hari Raya Korban, as the price of crude oil was also sliding down, was a secret even to elected representatives sitting in the cabinet. (I mean the real cabinet, not the often talked about kitchen cabinet)

A senior minister, with his eyes wide open in disbelief, confided earlier today that the Cabinet never discussed or approved the latest hike. They were not even in the know. The late evening statement of a 0.20sen hike hit them like you and me with non-stop queries from the people.

The Cabinet was certainly not in the know except maybe for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his his newfound non-politician lieutenants Datuk Seri Idris Jala and Datuk Seri Wahid Omar. This is what other cabinet members assume the real situation to be, unless someone from the IMF or World Bank was having dinner with the PM while twisting one of his arms.

I wonder if this is what Najib meant when he made the earth-shattering 'the days the Government knows it all is over' speech.

With due respect to all cabinet members, the deputy Prime Minister who is away performing his Haj in the Holy Land included, it actually appears as though the cabinet's days are over. The days the cabinet was responsible for all policies and matters that concerned the running of the government and the well being of this beloved nation and her people is over.

From this latest murmurs from none other than members of the cabinet themselves, it could be concluded now that the Malaysian Cabinet is inching towards becoming a fully-inked rubber stamp.

Decisions are made elsewhere and the cabinet just stamps it because that is what the PM and his advisors want? Like the ISA and the Sedition Act?

So, who makes decisions nowadays?

I don't know, you don't know, the Government certainly doesn't know and the the rakyat are in total shock and awe. Fuel price goes up and everything else from school bus fares to kopi-o kosong will go up (the Govt has no means and balls to control this) and nobody knows anything about it.

Who knows it all then?

Too many pakciks and their kin would be asking this question when they discuss the escalating cost of living while slaughtering cows and goats this Hari Raya Korban, I'm sure. Apa yang hendak di korbankan lagi Datuk Seri?

p/s The mainstream print media too appear very obedient today, reassuring Malaysians  whose interests they actually serve.

Wonderful blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers?

I'm planning to start my own site soon but I'm a little lost
on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go
for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I'm totally overwhelmed ..
Any tips? Many thanks!

Hey this is somewhat of off topic but I was wanting to
know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
