Dr Mahathir tells foreign governments to make 1MDB probe public ! So ?

UAE's English daily The National reported as below.

Razak critic urges 1MDB findings be publicised

April 20, 2016 Updated: April 21, 2016 03:56 PM

A leading critic of Malaysia’s prime minister Najib Razak said corruption had reached levels never seen before in the country and urged foreign governments linked to the controversy surrounding a state investment fund to make their findings public.

1MDB, whose advisory board is chaired by Mr Razak, is under investigation in at least five countries including Switzerland and the US over allegations of money laundering and embezzlement.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad, at one time the country’s longest-serving prime minister, said the investigations into the 1MDB fund were not just a problem for Malaysia.

“Being diplomatic isn’t going to help Malaysia or anyone else," he said on the sidelines of the International Conference on Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship organised by the Canadian University Dubai. “They must recognise action needs to be taken and do what is necessary."

Dr Mohamad, who was in his post between 1981 and 2003, said the scandal around the Malaysian fund threatened the Asian nation’s international reputation and hurt foreign direct investment.

“All inquiries should eventually be made public because inquiries that are kept secret are of no use to anyone," he said.

“Eventually things will have to be revealed."

Last week, Abu Dhabi’s International Petroleum Investment Company (Ipic) said neither itself nor its Aabar unit had any connection to a firm incorporated in the British Virgin Islands that was named in a report into the controversy surrounding the Malaysian fund.

In May 2015, Ipic had agreed to provide the Malaysian fund US$1 billion to meet some of its liabilities in exchange for assets while at the same time taking on interest payments on about $3.5bn in debt.

But the Abu Dhabi fund now says 1MDB is in default on the terms of the agreement. - The National

I read the above news report more than once, just to allay my concerns that there were pleas and demands for foreign interference in the domestic affairs of Malaysia.

In fact I read it more than twice, but there were none. The report is there for you to read and interpret but I'm a little amused by the thinly veiled statement from a morally bankrupt politician.

A cheap statement from a scandal ridden politician who stands accused for a series of crimes in the court of public opinion, but it reveals desperation.

For someone who has confessed to having received billions of ringgit in personal donations from a foreigner, the 'foreign interference' cry is laughable.

Channelling billions of ringgit into your personal account from a foreign donor, who 'simply gave it and was not expecting anything in return', would make a good fairytale script. Thank you! We don't buy such bullshit.

Now, are we Malaysians not concerned about international criminal investigations on 1MDB relating to suspected money laundering and embezzlement ?

Billions of ringgit are missing and 1MDB's Arul Kanda Kandasamy says it could be fraud. What has 1MDB done to recover the lost billions if at all it was fraud?

Dear Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib, it has been said again and again that you must be responsible for the failed, scandal ridden 1Malaysia Development Berhad - 1MDB. There are no two ways about it. If it was indeed a scam, you allowed it.

Even if you are convinced that you have been conned by Jho Low the Penang khia, you still have to stand up and explain. How he did do it?

Don't run around because this is about a sovereign nation whose interests and livelihood are being compromised due to a host of reasons especially international humiliation for corruption and mounting foreign debts.

This is not your family business.

The escalating cost of living in both rural and urban areas are at unhealthy levels.

"corruption had reached levels never seen before in the country and urged foreign governments linked to the controversy surrounding a state investment fund to make their findings public" - Dr Mahathir said in Dubai.

Dr Mahathir also urged foreign governments to make their investigations public. - "urged foreign governments linked to the controversy surrounding a state investment fund to make their findings public"

Asking investigators and investigating authorities to make their findings public is a crime?

We cannot tolerate false, unfounded allegations that are part of a conspiracy to topple a democratically elected government. Remember that. Truth matters.

Remember that asking the resignation of a sitting prime minister is not a crime. Otherwise how did Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (now Tun) step aside to allow Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak to take over?

We have a working moral compass in this country, I'm sure.

The prime minister must come clean. Begin with the money in the kitty.

Follow up by suing The Wall Street Journal for proof  to restore Malaysia's badly bruised image and reputation.

You can follow in Nazir Razak's footsteps and step aside, if you are still able to do that. The window is almost shut. The choice is still yours.

Living in denial cannot go on forever.

As Dr Mahathir puts it, eventually things will have to be revealed.

Hope you would come to your senses fast and not be fooled by bootlickers who are hell bent on keeping you within the bubble, and continue destroying yourself in the pretext of fighting a political battle.

1MDB bukan cerita rekaan Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Kenyataan hutang dan penggadaian tanah serta maruah dek kerana 1MDB terpampang didepan mata. Bukankah kita celik?

Orang lain kehadapan, kita terkangkang gali lubang. Hutang keliling pinggang.

Dubai a perfect example of visionary leadership

Do not be deceived by sihir and use it as a "body guard" for one will not be heeded by whatever anyone say!

See Al-Baqarah 16-18, Nauuzubillah:

“Those are the ones who have purchased error [in exchange] for guidance, so their commerce has brought no profit, nor were they guided.”
“Their example is that of one who kindled a fire, but when it illuminated what was around him, Allah took away their light and left them in darkness [so] they could not see.”
صُمٌّ بُكْمٌ عُمْىٌ فَهُمْ لاَ يَرْجِعُونَ

Bro., the mythomanic mappadulung and his marauding macais live in a mutual symbiosis - their common denominator is an insatiable craving for money and power. They are hellbent in coveting the world hence they shall perish by its overwhelming poison.

There is nothing - nothing - he can do to prevent the unravelling of his lies.

The Saudis will NOT save him when faced with mountains of evidence from 7 nations.

And that will be the end of the lanun Bugis.

(108) ... There is a mosque whose foundation was laid from the first day on Piety towards God; it is more worthy of standing forth (in devotion) therein. In it are men who love to be purified; and God loves those who strive to be pure.
(109) Which then is best? - the one who lays his foundation on righteousness and devotion towards Allah seeking His approval, or the one who lays his foundation on unstable sand-cliffs, which collapses with him into the Fires of Hell? And God does not guide those who uphold wrongdoing.
(110) The foundation of such builders is never free from suspicion and shakiness in their hearts, until their hearts are shred to pieces. And God is All-Knowing and Wise.
(111) God has purchased from the people of Faith their lives and their possessions; for them (as compensation) is the Garden (of Paradise): they fight in the cause of God, and slay or are slain. This promise is binding on Him in truth, through the Torah, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than God on High? Hence rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded: it is the supreme achievement.
(Quran, chap. 9, Repentance)

One, IPIC’s statements this April tell, in bottom line language: ‘we hold Najib ultimately responsible to give us back our money (US$1 billion) and we hold 1MDB complicit in lying to us, and in lying in their accounts about a payment that never arrived‘. After receiving the 1MDB money, Aabar BVI was wound up in June 2015. Yet this evidence means nothing to Apandi. You don’t think this strange, Lina?

Two, the US$1 bn owed to IPIC is just 14% of US$7.04 billion (MYR28 bn) the PAC has documented to be unaccounted for, a disappearance that started in Sept 2009 with US$1.03 billion and then continued until 2014.

That is, for five years, evidences piled up to show not only a pattern in which money was siphoned out of 1MDB but they also pointed to fraud on an international scale.

If a bunch of politicians closeted in a parliament room with little time, limited resources and limited access to documentary evidences can come close to such a conclusion how could the expert AG lawyers and Apandi himself see nothing?

On Monday the US$50 million interest becomes due on 1MDB bond.

It may or may not be paid, but one thing is very clear:

The UAE is not going to kabber-ap the theft of US$3.5 billion any more. They want justice done.

Now the forensic logic becomes deadly:

a) Did Khadem al-Qubaisi and Mohamed Badawy al-Husseiny set up "Aabar Tiruan", or did they merely profit from the theft?

b) Who set up "Aabar Tiruan", and why?

c) Who else profited from the theft?

d) Is there a link between "Aabar Tiruan" and Tanore Finance?

e) Did money flow from "Aabar Tiruan" to Tanore Finance, and then did "681 American pies" arrive in Malaysia from that same flow of money?

So there is now very little left to solve. Just a few loose ends to tie up.

I wonder how well Najib is sleeping these days.

Liar, liar
I am the world's best liar.
I'm not saying this because I lie forthright to people around me. That's easy enough.

I lie to myself. I lie because I have to. How else am I supposed to get myself out of bed? How else do I live half alive and dead in my mind?

I tell myself I'm fine.
That's the lie I can't define
I have to get out of bed somehow
To run that freaking fund.

"Accordingly, due to a dispute between the parties, neither 1MDB nor its subsidiary, 1MDB Energy (Langat) Limited, has made payment either, and are now in default per the terms of the Langat Notes,” said 1MDB.

Singapore Straits Times said that the declaration of default “immediately exposes Prime Minister Najib Razak's government to more than US$6.481 billion in debt” owed to Gulf emirate Abu Dhabi.

Malaysian government officials close to the situation told Singapore Straits Times that the dispute surrounding the US$3.5 billion that IPIC helped 1MDB raise in May 2012 is likely to go into private arbitration.

While 1MDB reiterated that it will meet all its other existing financial obligations and has ample liquidity to do so, it is withholding the US$50.3 million interest payment following claims by IPIC that certain payments and other obligations were still owed it.

“1MDB has been surprised by IPIC’s comments and unequivocally asserts that it has attempted to meet all its obligations to IPIC, whereas IPIC has publicly denied receipt or knowledge of various financial transactions and/or guarantees entered into between the parties."

1MDB has been surprised?

But the Finance Minister conspired with 2 Arabs and a Chinaman to steal our money, 1MDB.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Among all the questions triggered by a long-expected default this week by 1Malaysia Development Bhd on a US$50.3 million payment on bonds guaranteed by an Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund, the biggest one is perhaps this: How on earth did they think they could get away with it?

Did the Prime Minister of Malaysia and his enablers simply believe nobody would notice that billions – not millions – billions of US dollars would disappear irretrievably, to the point where it could imperil the entire Malaysian financial system? Did they think authorities in Abu Dhabi wouldn’t notice they weren’t getting paid US$3.5 billion?

Let's see what Hadi Awang's principles are:

"Najib flinching in the face of the Bank Negara Malaysia’s governor’s choice and shifting the sands in Sarawak to regain a larger majority (if it happens) in the state shows his limitations.

It is doubtful that Najib can repeat the gerrymandering in Selangor without the Party Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) betraying the opposition, and supporting the BN government in the creation of new, BN friendly
parliamentary seats in peninsular Malaysia.

Speaking to Worldfuturetv.com, a former opposition ally now turned BN adviser said he was totally sure the PAS would give Najib a helping hand in Parliament to get the needed two thirds majority to vote a new
parliamentary seat configuration.

“This will change the game in Selangor in particular,” he said.

He said there could be a compromise between the BN and the PAS over the controversial Hudud.

He said 30 new seats will be added, including in Sabah and Sarawak but the BN would need 10 new seats (mostly Malay dominated) in peninsular Malaysia.

“This means BN in tight control (like Sarawak),” he said.

The new parliamentary seats means “marginal seats” and he mentioned the reshaping of Balik Pulau, Parit Buntar, Sekijang seats."
