Dr Mahathir tells foreign governments to make 1MDB probe public ! So ?

UAE's English daily The National reported as below.

Razak critic urges 1MDB findings be publicised

The National staff

April 20, 2016 Updated: April 21, 2016 03:56 PM

A leading critic of Malaysia’s prime minister Najib Razak said corruption had reached levels never seen before in the country and urged foreign governments linked to the controversy surrounding a state investment fund to make their findings public.

1MDB, whose advisory board is chaired by Mr Razak, is under investigation in at least five countries including Switzerland and the US over allegations of money laundering and embezzlement.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad, at one time the country’s longest-serving prime minister, said the investigations into the 1MDB fund were not just a problem for Malaysia.

“Being diplomatic isn’t going to help Malaysia or anyone else," he said on the sidelines of the International Conference on Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship organised by the Canadian University Dubai. “They must recognise action needs to be taken and do what is necessary."

Dr Mohamad, who was in his post between 1981 and 2003, said the scandal around the Malaysian fund threatened the Asian nation’s international reputation and hurt foreign direct investment.

“All inquiries should eventually be made public because inquiries that are kept secret are of no use to anyone," he said.

“Eventually things will have to be revealed."

Last week, Abu Dhabi’s International Petroleum Investment Company (Ipic) said neither itself nor its Aabar unit had any connection to a firm incorporated in the British Virgin Islands that was named in a report into the controversy surrounding the Malaysian fund.

In May 2015, Ipic had agreed to provide the Malaysian fund US$1 billion to meet some of its liabilities in exchange for assets while at the same time taking on interest payments on about $3.5bn in debt.

But the Abu Dhabi fund now says 1MDB is in default on the terms of the agreement. - The National

I read the above news report more than once, just to allay my concerns that there were pleas and demands for foreign interference in the domestic affairs of Malaysia.

In fact I read it more than twice, but there were none. The report is there for you to read and interpret but I'm a little amused by the thinly veiled statement from a morally bankrupt politician.

A cheap statement from a scandal ridden politician who stands accused for a series of crimes in the court of public opinion, but it reveals desperation.

For someone who has confessed to having received billions of ringgit in personal donations from a foreigner, the 'foreign interference' cry is laughable.

Channelling billions of ringgit into your personal account from a foreign donor, who 'simply gave it and was not expecting anything in return', would make a good fairytale script. Thank you! We don't buy such bullshit.

Now, are we Malaysians not concerned about international criminal investigations on 1MDB relating to suspected money laundering and embezzlement ?

Billions of ringgit are missing and 1MDB's Arul Kanda Kandasamy says it could be fraud. What has 1MDB done to recover the lost billions if at all it was fraud?

Dear Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib, it has been said again and again that you must be responsible for the failed, scandal ridden 1Malaysia Development Berhad - 1MDB. There are no two ways about it. If it was indeed a scam, you allowed it.

Even if you are convinced that you have been conned by Jho Low the Penang khia, you still have to stand up and explain. How he did do it?

Don't run around because this is about a sovereign nation whose interests and livelihood are being compromised due to a host of reasons especially international humiliation for corruption and mounting foreign debts.

This is not your family business.

The escalating cost of living in both rural and urban areas are at unhealthy levels.

"corruption had reached levels never seen before in the country and urged foreign governments linked to the controversy surrounding a state investment fund to make their findings public" - Dr Mahathir said in Dubai.

Dr Mahathir also urged foreign governments to make their investigations public. - "urged foreign governments linked to the controversy surrounding a state investment fund to make their findings public"

Asking investigators and investigating authorities to make their findings public is a crime?

We cannot tolerate false, unfounded allegations that are part of a conspiracy to topple a democratically elected government. Remember that. Truth matters.

Remember that asking the resignation of a sitting prime minister is not a crime. Otherwise how did Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (now Tun) step aside to allow Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak to take over?

We have a working moral compass in this country, I'm sure.

The prime minister must come clean. Begin with the money in the kitty.

Follow up by suing The Wall Street Journal for proof  to restore Malaysia's badly bruised image and reputation.

You can follow in Nazir Razak's footsteps and step aside, if you are still able to do that. The window is almost shut. The choice is still yours.

Living in denial cannot go on forever.

As Dr Mahathir puts it, eventually things will have to be revealed.

Hope you would come to your senses fast and not be fooled by bootlickers who are hell bent on keeping you within the bubble, and continue destroying yourself in the pretext of fighting a political battle.

Crime is no politics

1MDB bukan cerita rekaan Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Bukankah kita celik?

Orang lain kehadapan, kita terkangkang gali lubang. Hutang keliling pinggang.

Fighting fit to take on 1MDB

Najib fighting fit, downsizing from XXL to XL
By Jonathan Chia

KUCHING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri NajibTunRazak wants his critics to know that he is “fighting fit” and ready to take on anyone.

Speaking at the launching of GREAT 2016, Najib said: “I changed and saw two shirts hanging with the sizes of XL and XXL.

I’m proud to say I chose XL and I could wear it.The message is clear, I’m fighting fit and I will take on anyone,” he said.
However, he did not elaborate his battle further. - BorneoPost

"However, he did not elaborate his battle further" !

How could he elaborate when no one is actually interested in fighting the 'fighting fit' Prime Minister. He might just roar (like in the pic above) and scare his enemies away.

All able minded Malaysians are asking for is for you, Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, to come clean on the billions of ringgit in donations which you seem to have received in your personal bank account. The whole world is talking about it.

Are you involved in any international money laundering syndicate?

The last few days saw you and your flamboyant wife's pictures splashed in the pages of a few foreign and international newspapers. None of them called for a street fight. Save the thug-like 'I will take on anyone' salvo for another day. People are just wondering where you got so much money to splash.
With love from Indonesia
Turkish delight

Dear 'fighting fit' Najib, a big majority of those who were elated when you took over from Abdullah Ahmad Badawi are now eager to hold you accountable for your actions. You took over about a year after the 2008 elections without toppling the democratically elected Barisan Nasional government, you remember that Najib? We are just demanding for something similar now.

No Malaysian in the right frame of mind would want to pick a fight with a desperate politician who happens to be a 'fighting fit' Prime Minister, Finance Minister and probably the only man vested with soo much power and authority in the country today. If not for Appandi the Attorney General I would proclaim you as the most powerful man.

People are not crazy, we are just asking for explanations.

Malaysians are not numb. We may be different in many ways but we are not numb and stupid to be hoodwinked by pirates and pretenders. We just expect our elected representatives to not steal, plunder and tell lies on a daily basis. Is that too much to ask for?

Dear Mr 'fighting fit' Najib Razak, you owe Malaysia and Malaysians a long list of explanation beginning from the billions of ringgit in your personal bank accounts to the dubious wheeling and dealings in and around 1Malaysia Development Berhad - 1MDB, your baby.

Interferences into the various investigations plus the removal/transfers of Government servants involved in the probe of your suspected criminal acts didn't go unnoticed. Don't think Malaysians are ignorant. The ignorant are all in your cabinet.

People are watching your antics. It looks like even those around you have become increasingly concerned about their possible fate in the not too distant future. Maybe that answers the question why some have begun trading for 'immunity', actively.

Even Arul Kanda Kandasamy appears to be signing out with his recent 'My job is done' motherhood statement.

Dear Najib, I sincerely hope that you're fighting fit to take on 1MDB because that is your fight for survival. Don't waste time punching in the dark when the enemy is within you. You created it. Your enemy is 1MDB.

Good luck. Tender your resignation soonest possible and save us all the trouble.

Don't sabotage Adenan Satem

Just thought of advising you to stay out of Sarawak until the state election is over. Please don't go there and ruin all those goodwill and support which the new Chief Minister has regained since taking over from Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud (without toppling the democratically elected government that is).

The Sarawakians are very polite, humble and nice people. No matter who they are, they are generally nice. Adenan won't possibly tell you not to come to Sarawak but you should know better (if you don't, try taking a quick peek at all those flowery comments in Facebook after your latest walkabout in a shopping mall in Kuching).

Why sabotage Adenan and Sarawak BN ? Don't take advantage of Adenan Satem's hospitality and be a thorn on his side. Stay out for the greater good of BN. Stay out and fight your own battle like a man.

A vote for Adenan cannot be a vote for you. You are not Adenan Satem!

p/s

Sarawak BN lynchpin Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) and Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) would most likely emerge as the saviours of the 13-party coalition when the others lay grasping for their last breath. If no remedial steps are taken we could witness this scenario after the next general elections.

Don't sabotage your saviours.

Dr M returns but not United Arab Emirates' billions

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad returned home today after a working visit to Jordan and UK. The statesman's arrival, earlier than the scheduled 12.30pm ETA, at the Subang Sky Park terminal was welcomed by hundreds of supporters and well-wishers.

On another note an Abu Dhabi investment fund, linked to scandal-ridden Malaysian investment fund 1MDB, has alleged that USD1.4 billion (approximately  RM6billion at current exchange rate) of their money has NOT RETURNED.

Once again The Wall Street Journal has this eye-opener for many blind Malaysians.

The corruption scandal around an economic-development fund in Malaysia is spilling beyond the country’s borders, as officials at a United Arab Emirates state investment vehicle raise questions about more than a billion dollars in money that they said is missing.
Abu Dhabi has long been a source of support for the fund, 1Malaysia Development Bhd., which was set up six years ago by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak to develop new industries in the Southeast Asian country. Now, as 1MDB tries to fend off a cash crunch, its backers in Abu Dhabi are asking what happened to a $1.4 billion payment the fund said it made but which they never received, two people familiar with the matter said.
The dispute comes as Mr. Najib is battling a separate scandal linked to 1MDB. Malaysian investigators are examining the transfer of hundreds of millions of dollars into the prime minister’s alleged private bank accounts through entities linked to 1MDB. The disclosures have sparked a political crisis and set off a handful of investigations around the world, destabilizing the government and damaging confidence in Malaysia’s economy.
Mr. Najib has denied wrongdoing and said he didn’t take money for personal gain.
The U.A.E. is trying to sever its ties to the fund and restructure the entity that provided it with financial support, the people said.

Hendak harum terlalu hangit!

P.S. Jika Umno kekal buta kayu maka pastinya penyokong dan pendokong akan melangkah batas beramai-ramai.

1MDB - Timbalan Perdana Menteri desak penjelasan Najib Razak

Jika fitnah katakan fitnah, berdiam diri bukan lagi pilihan.

MEMPERINGATI 43 TAHUN SKANDAL WATERGATE

Beliau (Presiden) cuba menghalang siasatan. Akhirnya Nixon "under threat of impeachment" oleh Kongres menjadi Presiden pertama Amerika Syarikat yang meletak jawatan semasa masih menjawat jawatan.

Is Malaysia ruled by criminals now?

I don't think so. I don't think we are ruled by criminals although there has been increasing worry about corruption, abuse of power and outright treason at the corridors of power. There could just be one or two, if not a few, rascals whose cover is being blown away. They will face the music sooner... or later.

As a nation which broke free from the shackles of colonialism in 1957, we have been generally ruled and administered by men and women of great wisdom, good character, love for the nation and above all unquestionable loyalty to this land.

Surely along the way we have had scums and rascals who tried to abuse little influence and power they had for monetary gains and personal elevation. We can proudly say that almost all of them failed in one way or another, sooner or later. Some so miserable in later life while the no so lucky ones suffering public shame not long after their sin against this nation and her people.

Malaysia has stood all such tests and tribulations and grew stronger. One of the underlying reasons why Malaysia could stand tall is due to the strength and wisdom of the unassuming Malaysians. Yes, us the ordinary Malaysians.

Malaysians may appear quiet and easy-going with loads of 'tidak apa' attitude but we can easily differentiate between right and wrong. We don't need a Harvard tutorial for that skill. The awareness level is relatively good. Quality of parenting is also not so bad. I'm sure every parent would remind their children that cheating, stealing and trying to cover up theft and cheating by telling lies is forbidden. Parents pass on what has been drilled into them by their parents and such acts are forbidden in every religion, race, ethnicity. As a society, we are yet to go astray in that sense.

So, coming back to the question of exposing crime. I'm sure we Malaysians could see the difference between a crime and the many acts to cover up the crime.

Exposing a crime is not yet a crime in Malaysia and I'm sure it will stay that way as long as we the ordinary Malaysians keep our eyes and ears open.

I think this is NOT A CRIME... Yes, we misled Justo on payment to get proof of US$1.83 billion scam

What do you think?

While the Task Force - (Attorney General, Bank Negara, Police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) are busy at work investigating a massive crime against this nation, there seems to be increased attempts to divert our attention away from that investigations of the crime of 'treason against our King and country'. Theft, money laundering and such are ancillary to treason.

We trust the Task Force investigating the channelling of Billion of Ringgit into Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak's personal bank account won't be arresting innocent people from the streets of Kuala Lumpur based on tampered documents and hearsay evidence from mentally retarded bankrupts.

We are confident that the task force would leave no stones unturned, including those sinister attempts to cover up by some highly placed officials... if any.

Remember that covering up a crime is a serious crime. Exposing a crime is not and never will be, especially when the crime is against this nation.

Stand up. Don't let rascals and scums with little power and influence to bully you.

1MDB - Najib dah saman akhbar Wall Street Journal?

Difahamkan Perdana Menteri belum SAMAN akhbar WSJ.

WALL STREET JOURNAL - 1MDB money in Najib's pocket?

Investigators Believe Money Flowed to Malaysian Leader’s Accounts

Prime Minister Najib’s bank accounts are scrutinized in probe of investment fund 1MDB

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia—Malaysian investigators scrutinizing a controversial government investment fund have traced nearly $700 million of deposits into what investigators believe are the personal bank accounts of Malaysia’s prime minister, Najib Razak, according to documents from a government probe.
The investigation documents mark the first time Mr. Najib has been directly connected to the probes into state investment fund 1Malaysia Development Bhd., or 1MDB.
Mr. Najib, who founded 1MDB and heads its board of advisors, has been under growing political pressure over the fund, which amassed $11 billion in debt it is struggling to repay.
The government probe documents what investigators believe to be the movement of cash among government agencies, banks and companies linked to 1MDB before it ended up in Mr. Najib’s personal accounts. Documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal include bank transfer forms and flow charts put together by government investigators that reflect their understanding of the path of the cash.
The original source of the money is unclear and the government investigation doesn’t detail what happened to the money that went into Mr. Najib’s personal accounts.
“The prime minister has not taken any funds for personal use,” said a Malaysian government spokesman. “The prime minister’s political opponents, unwilling to accept his record or the facts, continue to try to undermine him with baseless smears and rumours for pure political gain.”
Mr. Najib has previously denied wrongdoing in relation to 1MDB and has urged critics to wait for the conclusion of four official investigations that are ongoing into 1MDB’s activities.
Investigators have identified five separate deposits into Mr. Najib’s accounts that came from two sources, according to the documents viewed by the Journal.
By far the largest transactions were two deposits of $620 million and $61 million in March 2013, during a heated election campaign in Malaysia, the documents show. The cash came from a company registered in the British Virgin Islands via a Swiss bank owned by an Abu Dhabi state fund. The fund, International Petroleum Investment Co., or IPIC, has guaranteed billions of dollars of 1MDB’s bonds and in May injected $1 billion in capital into the fund to help meet looming debt repayments. A spokeswoman for IPIC couldn’t be reached for comment. The British Virgin Islands company, Tanore Finance Corp., couldn’t be reached.
Another set of transfers, totaling 42 million ringgit ($11.1 million), originated within the Malaysian government, according to the investigation. Investigators believe the money came from an entity known as SRC International Sdn. Bhd., an energy company that originally was controlled by 1MDB but was transferred to the Finance Ministry in 2012. Mr. Najib is also the finance minister.
The money moved through another company owned by SRC International and then to a company that works exclusively for 1MDB, and finally to Mr. Najib’s personal accounts in three separate deposits, the government documents show.
Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil, a director of SRC International, declined to comment. Mr. Kamil had power of attorney over Mr. Najib’s accounts, according to documents that were part of the government investigation.
A 1MDB spokesman said, referring to the transfers into Mr. Najib’s account: “1MDB is not aware of any such transactions, nor has it seen any documents to this effect.” The spokesman cautioned that doctored documents have been used in the past to discredit 1MDB and the government.
For months, concerns about 1MDB’s debt and lack of transparency have dominated political discussion in Malaysia, a close ally of the U.S. and a counterweight to China in Southeast Asia.
When he founded 1MDB in 2009, Mr. Najib promised it would kick-start new industries and turn Kuala Lumpur into a global financial center. Instead, the fund bought power plants overseas and invested in energy joint ventures that failed to get off the ground. The fund this year has rescheduled debt payments.
The Journal last month detailed how 1MDB had been used to indirectly help Mr. Najib’s election campaign in 2013. The fund appeared to overpay for a power plant from a Malaysian company. The company then donated money to a Najib-linked charity that made donations, including to local schools, which Mr. Najib was able to tout as he campaigned.
“We only acquire assets when we are convinced that they represent long-term value, and to suggest that any of our acquisitions were driven by political considerations is simply false,” 1MDB said last month.
The four probes into 1MDB are being conducted by the nation’s central bank, a parliamentary committee, the auditor general and police. A spokeswoman for Bank Negara Malaysia, the central bank, declined to comment. Malaysia’s police chief and a member of the parliamentary committee also had no comment. The auditor general said this week it had completed an interim report on 1MDB’s accounts and would hand it to the parliament on July 9.
The prime minister is facing increasing pressure over 1MDB. The country’s longest-serving prime minister, Mahathir Mohamad, who left office in 2003, publicly has urged Mr. Najib to resign.
This week, Malaysia’s home minister threatened to withdraw publishing licenses from a local media group, citing what he said were inaccurate reports on 1MDB.
The $11.1 million of transfers to Mr. Najib’s bank account occurred at the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015, according to the government investigation. Among the companies that investigators say it passed through was Ihsan Perdana Sdn. Bhd., which provides corporate social responsibility programs for 1MDB’s charitable foundation, according to company registration documents. Attempts to reach the managing director of Ihsan Perdana weren’t successful.
Documents tied to the transfer said its purpose was for “CSR,” or corporate social responsibility, programs. The Wall Street Journal examination of the use of funds tied to 1MDB for Mr. Najib’s election campaign showed that the money was slated to be used for corporate social responsibility programs as well.
The government probe documents detail how investigators believe SRC International transferred 40 million ringgit on Dec. 24 last year to a wholly owned subsidiary. This company on the same day wired the money to Ihsan Perdana, according to the documents. Two days after receiving the money, Ihsan Perdana wired 27 million ringgit and five million ringgit in two separate transfers to two different bank accounts owned by Mr. Najib, the government documents show.
In February, 10 million ringgit entered the prime minister’s account, also from SRC International via Ihsan Perdana, the documents show.
The remittance documents don’t name Mr. Najib as the beneficiary but detail account numbers at a branch of AmIslamic Bank Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur. Two flow charts from the government investigation name the owner of these accounts as “Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Hj Abd Razak,” the prime minister’s official name. A spokesman for AmIslamic Bank declined to comment.
In another transaction, Tanore Finance, the British Virgin Islands-based company, transferred $681 million in two tranches to a different account at another Kuala Lumpur branch of AmIslamic Bank. The government probe said the account was owned by Mr. Najib, according to the documents.
The transfers came from an account held by Tanore Finance at a Singapore branch of Falcon Private Bank, a Swiss bank which is owned by IPIC, the Abu Dhabi fund, according to the documents. A spokesman for Falcon Private Bank declined to comment.
The $681 million was transferred to Mr. Najib’s accounts on March 21 and March 25, 2013, the government documents show.
