ILLEGAL Bersih?

60 out of the 81 Non-Governmental Organisations said to be supporting Ambiga's Bersih are ILLEGAL organisations.

Sources from PAS have confirmed that a big majority of the ILLEGAL NGOs have less than 100 members.

"Some of them don't even exist as the names (of NGOs) were just coined to add up to the list. We know about this because we are party to it," a senior PAS leader who had previously sat in the Bersih committee revealed.

The leader also revealed the fact that the list of NGOs said to be supporting Bersih was 'created' by those who represent the "NGO faction within PKR".

"They just coined the names to give an impression that Bersih is backed by powerful NGOs. It was to create a false impression that Bersih appealed to a cross section of the society," he said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

PAS MP Nasharudin Mat Isa had on Sunday said that PAS should take lead and ownership of Bersih the movement was a 'political game which should be played by politicians/political parties.

Nasharudin had also said that Ambiga was unfit to lead Bersih.

Below are the list of 21 registered NGOs supporting Bersih, together with the 60 ILLEGAL ones. (information verified by the Registrar of Societies - ROS)

Kudos for putting up the truth bro. This is what Bersih is capable of, pretending to carry out some 'cleansing' act when the movement itself is not even 'cleaned' of its doing to mislead the people. wake up people, see who actually needs to be 'cleaned' now?-ApaiSwk

NGOs supporting Bersih 3.0, legal or otherwise and so is everyone else STAY AWAY FROM MERDEKA SQUARE on 28/4/2012 unless you have a valid permit.
It is also the work of foreign agents and elements to create chaos and disorders to destabilize the government.

Bersih is not bersih, so MUSLIMS stay away from bersih supporting bersih supporting LGBT.....tak pasal-psaal dapat dosa.

BERSIHKAN HATI tudulu. Dah tengok orangtua kat kampung dah tengok anak2 kat rumah, dah cukup bagi nafkah kat bini atau bini tanggung. AMBIGA tak tolong nanti masa akhirat, Nik AZIZ pun kena jawab untuk diri sendiri dosa2 dia. Amal tak cukup kat malaysia orang islam bebas beribadat orang bukan Muslim pun bebas beribadat. Cuba pi mane2 tempat, diskriminasi tetap ade. tanya ambiga why tak balik India tolong orang2 india yang susah melarat tapi dia tak mau sebab kerja2 macam tu takde glamour. Please Ambiaga this place is peaceful untuil your sick mind promote BERSIH for you hate the existing Goverment so much, believe me with what you did you are making more people voting for present government coz we do not want some sick mind people to be our leader. Is nothing wrong with the voting system you haveto face teh fact thou they peopl want change but we are ready to give all the power to you especially YOU coz you sick idea made us scare that one day this country will turn to be full of pro LGBT...so we will vote for BN that ensure stability in faiths

Not registered does not mean illegal!

I don't think it's fair to discredit these NGOs by the mere fact of being "unregistered". It's almost like saying that because you do not have a PhD title, and therefore not entitled to any opinion.

I believed Bersih needs to be recognised, and in fact, every citizen needs to be recognised, whether they are "legal" or "illegal". It is about recognising one as a human being, and therefore entitled to justice and rights.

"Recognition" is one thing. "Support" is another. Recognising Bersih does not mean that you have to support them. I personally think that some of their critiques are valid, and for this, we have to learn what they have to say.

And again, it's fine postnig up this list. But I think it is a different consideration altogether ("recognition" vs "support"). And FYI, rarely does our ROS give permit to left-wing NGOs. This is due to the overall status quo, which then, point to the fact that, if our ROS is politically bias, is "being registered or not" a fair judgment in response to the legality of Bersih?

This is where I believe Malaysia requires more critical arguments, as opposed to struggling with the idea of being legitimate.
